#TWOHOURPOWER

Today we went to the Beach, and just about froze, even with my
lined leggins on under my jeans. But we found some sea shells
and I was able to see the Atlantic Ocean so that was exciting!!

Hello everyone!! This week we had a mission-wide event called "Two Hour Power". It was on Saturday and lasted from 5-7, and the basic idea was that all of the missionaries would pray for days prior about where their companionship should go at that specific time to go finding, and then at 5 we all got on a conference call and prayed together and then for those two hours went HAM. Afterward, a whole bunch of people wrote about the experiences they had or talked about the people they met within those two hours, it was one of the coolest things ever.

In Stafford, our #TWOHOURPOWER produced some miracles as well. In the beginning, we were off to a rough start. The first five doors we knocked on, all of them were busy watching the Eagles game. Then the first door where someone actually talked to us, it was to go on this rant about how we were literal AntiChrists hahaha so that was an adventure. Normally I would be kinda upset by someone yelling at me saying those kinds of things, but during #TWOHOURPOWER my only thought was, "This guy is wasting our time, we have people who need us!!". And LO AND BEHOLD a few doors later we meet Jason, this super nice fisherman guy. You know who else were some other super nice fishermen guys?? THAT'S RIGHT, CHRIST'S APOSTLES so basically I'm really excited about Jason. Not to put too much pressure on him or anything. Okay sorry everyone, I need to calm down, but really he was super awesome and I'm pumped.

The next street we went on we had some super cool experiences. This street that we had ended up praying about and deciding on, we realized that it was the street this one family who hasn't come to church in a while lived. We have stopped by or tried calling several times, but every time we have been ignored or the door gets slammed in our face. But for #TWOHOURPOWER we figured we would try by again....and this time we actually got to talk to the dad and invite him to branch conference!! It was honestly a miracle, you guys. Then further up the street we knock on a door and start talking to this younger guy. We don't even finish asking the first question when he looks at our badges and says "Oh, I go to that church!" ".....the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?" "Yeah, I'm Mormon! My grandma is [active member]". He and his siblings are all living with their aunt and so their records aren't anywhere. We literally accidentally knocked on a members door, it was so crazy.

The rest of the night, we set several return appointments, handed out 2 Book of Mormons and even got some Jehovah's Witness pamphlets given to us from this one guy we knocked into! What a plot twist.

After 2 hour power finished, the miracles continued. The literal ONE person inside the laundromat is a former investigator from years ago who wants us to come over to her home, have dinner, and teach her and her daughters.

Two hour power has built my faith that there are prepared people out there and we just need to find them!! The Lord is so good, and being a missionary is such a blessing. Hope that you all have a wonderful week!

Love,
Sister Yocum

We have been trying store contacting and feel guilty if we don't buy anything,
so we got these "relaxation masks" from the dollar store. We felt like
super heroes or something and looked like a bunch of dorks

Our "superhero poses"

Hot chocolate and toast! Who knew that was a thing?!

My desk, in case anyone was wondering what it looked like
